You mean if there's a common thread between us all. Something that makes us perfect specimens for whatever experimentations and purpose they have in mind for us.
[It is just theorizing, but it's better to overthink than not at all.
Speaking of "lines", though-]
I also don't know how relevant it is, but Connor is also from the RK line. He's a prototype as well. The two of us share similarities in that way.
[Hm, that does make sense. If they were targeted in what they were doing.]
You're both prototypes, so you've both been "test runs." It could be useful to know down the line.
Right now, we know one thing. We all have something blue and glowing in our chests. It glows for some more than others, but we all have it. Several people have reported that spot being the way that new objects have been brought here. Supposedly. This is assuming that it wasn't somehow transferred from one place in this world to another.
Which I think is more likely. More scientifically possible. Except for where our bodies are a factor in it all.
Well, at least not that I think. I had my DNA altered to handle large amounts of radiation. I don't know if that still stands, but my blood is still the same color. Black. The crash I was in from the start made it hard for me to pass on finding that particular answer.
[The only problem is that her involvement in making Nightblood was more on the ethical side of things than the biological. She couldn't tell if her blood could still do the same thing, and it's not like she has an opportunity to expose herself to radiation here. It wasn't even easy back home before Praimfaya's effects started to hit.]
[Black blood. Striking, he's sure, but equal parts... disconcerting, in ways that her DNA had been altered to survive radiation. She continues to paint her world in unflattering strokes, which doesn't exactly come as a surprise to Markus. Not after their meeting in the sky park.]
I would think if the color is indicative of change, then that change still exists. Not that I would want for you to test this theory out haphazardly, either.
But given what I've heard about the world outside of the city walls, it'd be useful to know one way or the other. I take it this isn't something that can be easily tested in the labs we have access to?
Not without a chamber to test it, and I have to admit that I've been enjoying a life without the constant effects of radiation poisoning. I still get it. I just have to metabolize it.
Still, we may have to ask Morningstar if they have a way to test it and the means to help with the treatment if I don't get better in a couple days.
An option that would be viable only if they were sure they could treat you. Otherwise, not exactly worth the risk. I feel bad enough as it is even suggesting the former.

[Not that this applied to him, at least, he doesn’t think so — any abilities he once possessed were connected with a body he no longer possesss.]

[Even her blood is still black.]

[They're using a lot of scare quotes here, but it's the easiest way of getting the point across. Markus is admittedly curious.]

[Because that is the other side of the risk.]

[There may even be those who haven't revealed that much about themselves just yet.]

Thanks for sharing this information, Clarke. Is there anything you need from me going forward?

Just—listen to what everyone says about themselves moving forward. There may be some clues inherent in what we find there.

[The driest sort of amusement. Not always a good thing, but in this case, definitely so.]

I guess it goes around.
